Naughty soccer mom or soccer mom in a broad meaning refers to women who belong to the middle class in North America. These women are said to spend so much time bringing their children to attend soccer practice or are moms of soccer players.

The definition is said to have originated in Ludlow, Massachusetts. However, it was never been confirmed if it was a TV news report or newspaper where the term was first used. The term became widely used during the 1990s specifically during the presidential elections in 1996. Since then it had been used as a common term.

In Australia, the term was used in relation to the national politics. It is believed by political analyst that this group of women have has a big influence in the outcome of the elections. Candidates had been trying their best to get the support of these moms for their political gain.

There are instances that the term is associated with some negative characteristic of soccer, power, politics, naughty and sex. But on the positive side, these moms are the mothers of soccer players who have devoted so much effort in caring and supporting their children’s dream of being a soccer player. They spend so much time bringing their kids on soccer fields and most of these kids play college soccer and some even became professional soccer players.

These moms should be given credits on their effort in promoting and supporting their kids in the sport. They contribute so much for the glory of the game.
