okay so this may i am graduating with a PTA degree.
lately i have been thinking that i would actaully like to be a PT.
I got accepted to a college near my house where i would get a bachelors in sports/exercise science and then i would go to grad school to get my DPT.

I like PTA a lot, i just think sometimes i would like to do more. like evaluation and whatnot.

I’m just not sure what i should do.
do you think i should go for my DPT? i’m 19, so i’m young and people say i should just go do it while i’m young.

It’s n ot really the money i’m concerned with at all because if i was a PTA i would probably be traveling, and the traveling PTAs make around 70k, so the money doesnt really matter to me.

anyone have any suggestions on what i should do?

Hello,
I was looking at applying to get my PTA but found out that the classes would not tranfer to a PT degree. I already have my bachelors in psychology but only have 2.5 in my overall undergrad work. I have already missed the deadline for enrollment into the PTA program but was going to take the prerequisites to get into the program. However, my overall goal is to get the PT degree. I want to know if I am waisting my time by going for the PTA degree and should I just wait unitl next fall to just try and get into a PT progam.

Thank you for your time.
About the Author: Read more about this and other topics related to social media

There are many careers in the medical field you can get into with less than 4 years of schooling. PTA is one of them, and one I have been interested in. I have a few questions & concerns though.
Unlike becoming a LPN or Rad Tech you can’t advance your career & go into another branch of work in the medical field, soo…
1.)Do PTA’s get “burnt out” after 7-10 years and want a job somewhere else?
2.)What is the pay like? (for tennessee)
3.)Is there a lot of “nasty” work, like LPN’s might do? Such as toiletry mess & such.
4.)Are you constantly under supervision by the Physical Therapist?
5.)Is there a lot of physical demand? Such as picking up very heavy people by yourself?
….if there is any other info you can give me it would be helpful, like a typical day as a PTA, if there are any out there that read this!?

I want to go into the medical field, but I don’t know if I can handle all the mess LPN/RN’s deal with
And I hear the radiology tech field is over saturated, & I’ve always been interested in physical therapy so it’s another option I’m looking into, I’m just trying to make sure I’m making the right choice!!
