I have two preschool aged daughters. I feel like I handle tasks as they come up, but not with any organization or proper planing. My mom and dad worked, so I never really saw a stay at home parent in action, help me!

Wife was a stay at home mom and she just kept working. I can’t say as she had a specific order or sequence of working things out, but she sure as ‘ell did a lot. I have 6 fantastic kids to show for it. Well I guess they’re kids when they are in their mid 30′s , got a 14 year old at home too. Yeah stay at home mom are the best thing for this country.

I stayed home with my kids when they were little. You fit in your daily chores including the children. Mine loved to help with everything, cleaning, baking, preparing meals…allow them to do age appropriate things. Take them outside every single day (multiple times) for play and adventure. I lived on a farm when mine were young, so there were always daily chores to fit in to the routine too. Children love to play in the garden..allow them to grow some flowers, play in the dirt, jump in puddles on rainy days, look at rocks, take the time to see shapes in the clouds, draw pictures in mud with sticks, walk in the woods to see what you can see and teach them. Play games with them and read, read, read to them daily. Talk to your children…nothing wrong with allowing them to play on their own in another room, but do take time with them…children love nature and there is so much to see and adventures to create. If you help develop their imagination, you will have given your children a great gift that so many forget about now in the days of computers. I never kept a strict schedule…my children knew their manners, how to tie their shoe laces, knew their address and phone number, knew to wash their hands the proper times, and knew how to print, abc`s, numbers and colours when they went to kindergarten. Fit in all this with your daily household routine..no schedules, just take it one day at a time and enjoy…they are young for such a short time.
