I do not know where to place this question so I will try dropping it in 2 places. My issue is for the last three and a half years I have given my time, money, and help to my child’s public school. Last year, I was the second grade room mother. I also supervised on field trips, field day, typed class work up, participated in fundraisers, box tops, treat bags, and most of all supported my child by partnering with the school at home as well.: ) Although, I never joined the PTA, I have always been directly involved with the classroom support. This year my boy is older and is maturing and the teachers at this level do not need much if any help beyond money and so I give that. I am mad because 2 mothers at the school that I have known over the last three years have never served on the PTA either, but they recently hopped up and became president and vice president and have become rude as hell towards me. They are coping attitudes with me because I have not joined the same PTA they just hopped up and took over and they are bringing a negative vibe to the school that the last PTA organization did not have. When you walk into the school now there attitudes are very nasty. I would always volunteer and help as I always had but now that I see this side of them I do not want to work with either one of them. Would you work with them? I have a right to serve in the capacity of my choice I dont have the kiss their butts and serve where they say because they are moms just like myself and plus after 3 years of service I am looking for work but they dont seem to understand that.
@ARSPING- that is exactly how I volunteer directly within the classroom and I have the last 3 1/2 yrs. but these two women are mad because I dont want to join the PTA but I have a lot of things to do and I serve more than enough by helping the class directly. I just hate when people try to get bossy just because they decided to do something that they were to inexperienced to do.: ) Thank you your so right.
